Do you want to be happy?

The first step is to establish a definition of happiness. To answer this question it would help to examine what makes other people happy. There are many different theories as to what truly causes happiness or satisfaction with life.

One way of thinking about happiness is that it is the pursuit of pleasure and the avoidance of pain, but this only works if you have a lot of time and money on your hands. Pleasure and pain are only experienced when you have a reference point. If you had no idea what your pleasure or pain threshold was, you could never exceed it.

Your expectations play a big role in happiness as well. Research has found that people who don’t expect much out of life are more satisfied with what they have than those who believe that there is always something better out there for them.

Aristotle and Epicurus were two early philosophers who believed that happiness is related to the attainment of a virtuous and good life. According to Aristotle, “happiness flows from the successful performance of one function following excellence or virtue.” The greatest form of happiness, then, would be derived from one’s work. In this sense, one could say that working for the sake of gaining something else (money or status) is a road that doesn’t lead to happiness, but more to do disappointments.

For exemple : You worked hard to get to the top of a mountain, but when you reach the top, all you can see is the next mountain . And you think to yourself “I claimed the wrong mountain!“ so you will leave everything and start all over again but you will not see all the work you’ve already put into .

Modern-day psychotherapy has some very different views on happiness. Most of its theories are based on a very simple definition of the term: happiness is a state of joy and contentment. Happiness is not necessarily the same as pleasure or contentment. Rather, it is much more complex than that. Happiness requires a certain amount of self-awareness and actualization to be achieved. In addition, happiness is not just a reaction to emotions; it also involves knowing how to respond well to changing emotions while in the midst of them.

some people only focus on the past. never forward, I think I would say the past shaped us into the person we are today but we decide on how to go in the future.

A few years back if you told me that I was going to write books and articles. I would probably laugh at your face because, I knew at that time, that I don’t have the patience nor the skills for it. and yet here we are writing my second book and I have plans to write more books in the future. I like it. It makes me settle down and have a bit of time for myself each time I write.

“I guess that makes me an author !!!!!” she thought in stupefaction.

happiness is not only for rich people as even them sometimes there are not happy. riches doesn’t mean happiness.

you make your happiness

That reminds me of a quote from Dumbledor

“ Happiness can be found in the darkest of times. you just have to remember to turn on the light”

ps: I am a huge Harry Potter fan, so sorry, not sorry.
